Exosomes have emerged as the most coveted “ingredient” in aesthetic medicine.

Exosomes are extracellular vesicles generated by all cells. They carry nucleic acids, proteins, lipids, and metabolites between cells. These minuscule vesicles play a pivotal role in cell-to-cell communication and several physiological processes. Laboratory-based exosome studies demonstrate enhanced outcomes in skin rejuvenation, scar revision, hair restoration, and fat graft survival on the macro and micro levels.  However, due to safety concerns, the use of human cell-derived exosomes is primarily restricted to regenerative medicine in many countries.

WHAT ARE EXOSOMES?

Exosomes are microscopic vesicles released by cells containing growth factors, cytokines, and genetic material. They transport this essential biological cargo from one cell to another and seamlessly enter the recipient cell to release their cargo inside. This biological information triggers a cascade of physiological reactions ultimately leading to tissue regeneration. More specifically, they promote cell proliferation, migration, and differentiation, ultimately boosting the formation of key tissue components and protein formation, leading to extraordinary regenerative effects.

Exosomes are widely used in regenerative medicine, but, as they contain genetic material, their use is limited by strict regulations. Indeed, exosomes can spread health, but they can also spread disease if coming from a sick cell.

EXOSOMES IN AESTHETIC MEDICINE

In the realm of aesthetic medicine, exosomes offer a groundbreaking solution for skin repair and rejuvenation. By enhancing cellular function, exosomes have the potential to stimulate collagen production and rejuvenate the skin in ways previously unattainable. However, the safety of human, animal or plant cell-derived exosomes remains a subject of ongoing research, necessitating a cautious approach towards their widespread adoption.

In the interim, skincare brands have turned their attention to alternative sources of exosomes, with plant-derived exosomes emerging as an effective option. Yet, questions linger regarding the possible side effects and their efficacy compared to their human-cell counterparts.

Moreover, the preservation of exosome integrity presents a formidable challenge, with lyophilization currently standing as the sole viable method for maintaining their properties. Therefore, there is no chance they would be somehow effective inside a serum or a cream.

SYNTHETIC EXOSOMES: A LEAP FORWARD IN TECHNOLIGY

Amidst these challenges, the advent of synthetic exosomes offers a promising avenue for overcoming regulatory hurdles and realizing the full therapeutic potential of exosome-based therapies. Pioneering efforts by INNOAESTHETICS have led to the development of 100% synthetic exosomes through their revolutionary NARBEX™ technology.

NARBEX™ technology (Non-Animal Regenerative Bioengineering Exosome) enables the crosslinking of peptide chains to create a molecule that emulates the signaling biological qualities and capabilities of mesenchymal cell-derived exosomes. It not only matches their properties, it enhances them.

INNOAESTHETICS EXOSOME-LIKE MOLECULE

Composed of chains of amino acids and peptides, INNOAESTHETICS’ exosome-like molecule behaves and improves on the activities of human, animal and plant derived exosomes. Without the risks associated with human derived exosomes, they activate skin cells, enhancing their function and restore the skin’s self-healing capabilities typical of youth. It effectively promotes:
